Stones host Northy Testimonial - Wealdstone Legends 2-4 Watford Legends

Wealdstone hosted Jonathan North's testimonial on Sunday as a team of Wealdstone Legends lost 4-2 to the Watford Legends side, with Jonathan North scoring for the Stones with the last kick of the game.

Northy made 393 appearances in 10 years for Wealdstone after joining from Watford in 2010 and then leaving in 2020 to join Hendon. He's now set to begin the new season back in the National League South with Slough Town.

He captained the Stones Legends side and donned the number 393 shirt during the first half before switching to a striker in the second half, wearing the number 9 and scoring with the final kick of the game.

The Watford Legends side included a number of ex-Wealdstone players such as Marvin Sordell, Matty Whichelow, Billy Gibson, Jack Smith and Scott Fitzgerald, current goalkeeper coach Graham Stack, as well as Lloyd Doyley and Tommy Smith who made over 750 appearances for the Hornets combined.

The Wealdstone Legends side lined-up as follows: North (Bonfield), Hammond (McCubbin), Massey (Wilson), Okimo (Ball), Grant (Siva), Lench (Godfrey), Green (Davies), Smith (Dean), Wellard (Price), McGleish (North), N'Goyi (Sheppard).

Scott McGleish rolled back the years for the Stones Legends by scoring the sides other goal. Sordell and Whichelow scored the goals for the Watford Legends.

Chris Cone won the football card raffle with Falkirk on the day, with over £400 raised for the keeper and we currently have two unclaimed prizes in the raffle, with two already claimed, we're looking for the winning ticket strip Orange 196-200 and Orange 310.
