LEASE REACTION: Stones' Whyley Grateful For Local Support

DOMINIC WHYLEY, Wealdstone's Acting Chairman and Financial Director, has moved quickly to express his gratitude on behalf of the club after the signature of the lease extension documents was concluded yesterday (Thursday March 12).

"Wealdstone FC welcomes the agreement reached between the parties to secure the future of football at The Vale,” said Whyley.

“The club owes a debt of gratitude to local representatives; in particular Councillor Steve Tuckwell (Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing and Economic Growth at Hillingdon Council) along with local Ruislip Manor Councillors Douglas Mills and Susan O’Brien, who have provided active and ongoing support for the club and its role in the community.

“We also appreciate the support shown by Danny Beales MP, who has highlighted in Parliament the importance of football clubs as community assets."

"The Board of Directors have given much of themselves on a voluntary basis, as ever, to see this process to its conclusion - no one more so than Quentin Fox, who's acted as Wealdstone's legal counsel in addition to a full-time job in law away from the club."

He added: "I'm really keen for all of our supporters, shareholders, sponsors and other stakeholders to be fully conscious of just what an important moment this is in the club's history.

"As the current custodians of this wonderful football club, the Board is acutely aware of the challenges which lie ahead of us - just as much as those which have been overcome during the past years and even decades.

"But now we can look forward to those new decisions with a sense of optimism, with real purpose and with the continuing support and understanding from all those who know just how special a community asset Wealdstone FC is."
