Wealdstone FC is proud to announce the formation of Wealdstone FC Women’s team, who will begin competing in the new 25/26 season.
With the immense growth of Women’s Football worldwide, this marks the start of an inspiring journey for the Stones as we look to rapidly grow into an established outfit in the Women’s game.
“It has long been an ambition of the club to have a complete pathway on the girls and women’s side of the club to equal that of the men and I’m absolutely delighted to finally be in a position to announce the launch of the Wealdstone FC Women’s team,” said Board & Foundation Director, Danny Kindell.
As part of the investment into Girl’s & Women’s football at Wealdstone, we are delighted to announce that Gabi Racut will take up the position of the first ever Head of Women’s football at Wealdstone FC.
“I want to thank all those involved in getting this over the line but with special thanks to Gabi who I got to know well through her role as leading the Brunel University’s Women’s Football Club, which of course Wealdstone FC have been involved in for the past year. I would also like to thank The Bugler Group for their sponsorship of the Trust which has made this possible” continued Danny.
“I know all involved with the Wealdstone FC family will get behind Gabi and the team.”
Gabi brings with her a wealth of knowledge of local women’s football and as Chairwomen and Captain of Brunel University Women’s Football team, impressed all involved with her knowledge, passion and dedication to the women’s game.
“As the first Head of Women’s Football at Wealdstone FC, I’m proud to lead the development of the club’s newly established women’s programme,” said Gabi.
“My vision is to create a sustainable pathway for women and girls at Wealdstone FC. I believe the club can play a key role in accelerating the growth of the women’s game, and I’m excited to be part of that journey. I can’t wait to get started.”
In tandem with the Wealdstone FC Foundation’s aims and objectives, the Women’s team allows local female footballers to represent the club, whilst also creating opportunities for not just playing staff, but those interested in all areas of the team, whether that be management and other support staff.
Initially, the Wealdstone FC Women’s team will play and train at the Club’s Training and Academy Centre at Brunel University with the intention of a number of fixtures being held at the main Grosvenor Vale stadium through the season.
