THE DETAILS

Wealdstone v Gloucester City FA Trophy 4th Round Grosvenor Vale

Saturday 16th January, 3:00pm kick-off

HOW TO WATCH

Elite football across the country is currently being played behind closed doors. We are live streaming Saturday's game with Gloucester City and you can purchase your streaming pass HERE.

THE CONTEXT The Stones returned from self isolation to a 3-1 defeat away to second-placed Hartlepool United, whilst Gloucester City picked up a battling 3-2 win over Kidderminster Harriers that kept them top of the National League North. Positively, Gloucester have returned home to their Meadow Park stadium since the sides last met in 2019 in Evesham. Both sides picked up emphatic victories in the last round with Gloucester winning 7-1 away at Maldon & Tiptree and the Stones coming back from 3-0 down to dispatch of league rivals Eastleigh 4-3.

TEAM NEWS Some players missed Saturday's trip to Hartlepool through an extension in their self isolation period, but they will all be available for selection Saturday. Rob Swaine is cup tied after playing in earlier rounds with Brentwood Town. Josh Debayo and Charlee Hughes are doubts after missing Saturday's trip to Hartlepool with injuries and Dan Wishart also picked up a knock in that game that will keep him out for a week. Connor Stevens has begun his return from a knee injury but remains a few weeks away from a return and Ross Lafayette and Danny Parish remain sidelined. Defender Maxim Kouogun made his debut at Hartlepool and will be available for selection again on Saturday.

WHO TO WATCH FOR? Matt McClure: With 12 goals so far in league competition, McClure is the top scorer in the National League North and will be known to Stones fans through his loan spell with the club back in 2010 from Wycombe Wanderers. He joined the club in the summer, teaming up with the now-Chesterfield manager James Rowe whom he had worked with at Aldershot Town. Although aged just 29, McClure is an experienced forward, playing over 100 times for both Wycombe and Aldershot and will pose a threat to the Stones backline.
