Signed: Dan Chesters is a Stone

Wealdstone Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of 24-year-old attacking midfielder Dan Chesters, subject to FA and National League approval.

Chesters joins the Stones following two seasons with Salford City, having started his career in the academy at West Ham United.

He made his senior debut for the Hammers in 2021, coming off the bench in a UEFA Europa League win over Genk, before gaining further first-team experience during loan spells with Colchester United and Salford City.

The midfielder has spent the past two weeks training with Gary Waddock’s squad and featured in the pre-season victory over Hemel Hempstead Town as a trialist, creating the only goal of the game.

He is capable of playing as both an attacking midfielder and a wing-back, and despite attracting interest from the EFL this summer, Chesters has chosen to continue his career at The Vale.

Manager Gary Waddock said:

“Dan has impressed us during the time he has spent with the group. He is an intelligent attacking player who is comfortable on the ball and has the ability to create chances in the final third.

“There was interest in him from elsewhere, so we are delighted that he has chosen to join us. He has settled into the squad quickly and we believe he will be an exciting addition to the team.”

Welcome to Wealdstone, Dan!
