LOAN NEWS | Howes returns on emergency loan

Wealdstone have signed Sam Howes on an emergency loan from Horsham for today's game against Dagenham & Redbridge and Monday's game against Yeovil Town.

Howes played for the Stones back in the 2015/16 season, again on a short-term loan whilst then-first choice keeper Jonathan North had an injury. Howes made five appearances and has since gone on to play for Hampton & Richmond Borough, Eastbourne Borough, Woking, Chelmsford City and Dorking Wanderers before joining Horsham this season.

Following an injury to George Wickens, Howes has joined the Stones four our Bank Holiday weekend fixtures.

The emergency loan was granted at 6:45PM last night after speaking with the National League and the FA from the early in the morning.

We would like to place on record our thanks to the National League, the FA and Horsham for making this happen.

Particular thanks go to Louise Edwards at the National League and Annie Raby the Assistant Secretary at Horsham who were thrown in the deep end at short notice and was great help in getting the loan over the line. Both ladies help are much appreciated.

We wish George a speedy recovery and expect him to be back in time for next weekend's fixture against King's Lynn Town and we welcome Sam back to The Vale for this short stay.
