'You'll see a reaction from us against Solihull'

Alex Dyer wants his teammates to put right the wrong of Good Friday and put in a shift in a crucial game at The Vale on Easter Monday.

The Stones lost to Oxford City on Friday and have an immediate chance to bounce back when they host Solihull Moors on Ban Holiday Monday, 3pm kick-off.

"One result on Monday can change the momentum of the whole club," said Dyer, the long-serving midfielder. "I've been in football long enough to know you can be on the floor one minute and up in the clouds the next. That's the beauty of football: there is always another game. We need to stand up and I look forward to the Solihull game even more after a result like that. We just want to get out there and put it right. You'll see a reaction from us.

"We have to be realistic and can't be saying it's one game at a time. We need to realistic about the situation we are in. It's a difficult one. We can look for excuses and say there are a lot of games coming up or we can stand up and take it for what it is. I'm going to do the latter. "

Added manager David Noble: "Every game of football is different – and the boys are going have to be different from what they were against Oxford. It's quick turnaround so hopefully we can put it right. We need to put it right as that wasn't acceptable on Friday – and I told the players that in no uncertain terms. They owe me, the fans, themselves and the club a performance on Monday. This a massive game for the club."
