Woking v Wealdstone - Match Preview

THE DETAILS

Woking v Wealdstone Vanarama National League The Laithwaite Community Stadium

Saturday 29th May, 12:30pm kick-off

HOW TO WATCH

This fixture is an all-ticket event open to HOME supporters only. Wealdstone supporters can watch the fixture via Woking's live streaming service, which you can purchase HERE.

THE CONTEXT

It's the battle for 19th place at Kingfield on the weekend, with relegation fears allayed a few weeks ago both the Stones and Cards began putting resources toward next season and as a result dropped down the table to 19th and 20th, although should relegation still have remained both would have been safe after King's Lynn Town failed to win in midweek. Woking have a recent history of late success against the Stones, scoring a last-minute winner when these sides met at The Vale in March and also subjecting the Stones to late play-off heartbreak back in 2019.

TEAM NEWS Jack Cawley and Dan Wishart both returned to the squad on the weekend and could both start in the Stones trip to Kingfield. Michael Phillips was missing with a knock but he could also return to the squad for the final day, too.

FORM GUIDE Stones:

Solihull Moors (H) 1-4 L (Mendy)

Chesterfield (A) 0-0 D Bromley (H) 0-1 L Dagenham & Redbridge (H) 0-5 L Stockport County (A) 4-0 L

Woking:

Stockport County (A) 1-1 D (Kretzschmar) Solihull Moors (A) 2-1 L (Collier) Sutton United (A) 3-2 L (Cooper, Leslie) Chesterfield (H) 1-4 L (Cooper) Dagenham & Rebdridge (A) 3-1 L (Ashford)

WHO TO WATCH FOR? Craig Ross: One of Woking's 'own' after coming through the youth system at Kingfield. Ross spent a number of years in and around non-league after leaving the Cards as a youngster in 2008 before a spell as Whitehawk's number one between 2014 and 2016 earned him a move to Macclesfield Town. From there he went to the EFL with Barnet before returning to the Cards in 2018 and he has spent three years between the sticks as their reliable first choice keeper, helping them win promotion from the National League South in 2019 and becoming a centurion for the club midway through this season.
