WELCOME BACK, CONNOR MCAVOY

ree

We are delighted to welcome 23-year-old defender Connor McAvoy back to Wealdstone on a permanent deal!

Connor is no stranger to the Stones, coming into his third spell at the club, following on from a loan move in the 2021/22 season, and a four month loan spell at the back end of last season.

McAvoy quickly became a fan favourite in his first stint, making 28 appearances and contributing significantly to the team's defensive stability. His composed performances and ability to read the game earned him widespread praise and made him an integral part of the squad.

Returning back to Fulham at the end of the 21/22 campaign, Connor featured regularly for their U21 side in Premier League 2, whilst training alongside some of the best talents in the Premier League.

He also enjoyed loan spells in Scotland with Partick Thistle and Ayr United before returning back to the Stones in January 2024, becoming an important figure in Neil Gibson's side. Connor made 16 appearances as the Stones fought a tough battle to stay in the National League.

Connor is also a Scotland youth international, with 6 caps at U17 level, 3 caps for the U18s, 4 caps for the U19s and 5 caps for the U21s.

Speaking on his permanent move, Connor said:

"I'm delighted, this club has become a second home to me in the last couple of years. I know the club really well and having the option to come here permanently was one I couldn't turn down,"

"The fans have supported me really well in both of my spells here and have helped me try return to the level I know I can play at!"

Connor's signing is subject to FA and League approval.
