AWARDS 2025/26: Woodman & Obiero Lead Wealdstone Winners' Parade

DEON WOODMAN was named the Wealdstone FC Supporters Club Player Of The Season, carrying off the stage the prestigious Jock Law Trophy just before the conclusion of the club's End-of-Season Awards event at The Vale.

Striker Micah Obiero's goals and tireless work rate earned him sufficient votes from his peers to be named the club's Players' Player Of The Season, and he also collected The Golden Boot award from George Duck - after the club's all-time leading goalscorer delivered a virtuoso speech which had players, staff and supporters enrapt by his tactical insights and unswerving enthusiasm for the Stones!

Duck's on-stage cameo aside, arguably the highlight of the event, there were no shortage of smiles among the players - despite the immediate disappointment of being pegged back late on when poised to claim victory over promotion hopefuls Scunthorpe United in the league schedule's last home fixture.

The Stuart Pearce Shield - for Junior Stones Player Of The Season - went to Dante Baptiste, while the podcast vote saw Nathan Tshikuna collect the StonesCast Player Of The Year award.

A busy function room heard tributes to both Lew Sheppard and Mark Barton, with both life-long Wealdstone fans having awards presented in their name. This came after a brief explanation - from Supporters Club President Nick Du Gard - around just what a key role WFCSC plays in direct support of everything Wealdstone.

Phil Jeffreson was crowned Supporter Of The Season as he took away the Mark Barton Memorial Shield. The Lew Sheppard Cup - for Moment Of The Season - went to a fans' vote, which saw Micah Obiero's late FA Trophy semi-final winner emerge as the top-selected option.

Women's Player Of The Season went to Avril Clarke, at the end of the team's inaugural campaign, while Academy Player Of The Season was awarded to Kai Bartolo, who spoke eloquently about the set-up and the excellent facilities at Brunel University, with the club's main sponsor represented at the event by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Geoff Rodgers.

There were four other awards presented, right at the start of the trophy-giving schedule, and they marked appearance milestones for the men's first-team: 100 games played by Enzio Boldewijn and Dominic Hutchinson, 150 by Micah Obiero and 200 by club captain Jack Cook.

The event concluded with a few words from Stones' manager Gary Waddock as he thanked supporters for their unswerving loyalty before then looking ahead to Wembley with a friendly warning to the players not to just enjoy the day but come away victorious.

Waddock had to pause briefly as the crowd broke into Wembley song, but it was all smiles from him as fans and players alike left The Vale to the sounds of 'Que Sera Sera'.
