Statement to local residents
Wealdstone Football Club is aware of the concerns of local residents in relation to a proposed Summer event to be held at the club’s Grosvenor Vale site.
Whilst we believe there has been some mis-information regarding the scale of this event, we recognise the concerns of local residents and have also received strong representations from local councillors in support of the residents.
The financial impact on the club from the past year has been significant and whilst we, like others, need to raise money, we also recognise that the on-going support of local residents for the club is critical in us continuing to thrive and move forwards and provide a great asset for the area to enjoy.
In order to remain viable as an organisation, it is important that we review options to make a wider use of the facility for the benefit of the community in a manner that is acceptable and pragmatic however having listened to the feedback from residents and your councillors the Board of Wealdstone FC wishes to apologies to its neighbouring residents for the levels of concern and can confirm that the proposed summer event will not be taking place.
Maintaining strong relationships with both residents and Hillingdon Council is very important to the club and we look forward to the local area supporting us as a National League club and making use of our social facilities.
