The November international break is not only affecting the Premier League, but also the Stones, where congratulations are in order for three of our players.

Omar Mussa has been called up by Burundi, Sak Hassan has been selected to represent Somalia and academy prospect Kai Bartolo is currently representing Malta under-19s, starting their recent match against Northern Ireland.

Congratulations, Omar, Sak and Kai!

We are also edging closer to our massive FA Cup clash against Grimsby Town, which takes place in early December.

Tickets for the game are available for purchase here.

The Wealdstone FC Supporters Club are running a coach service for the game and tickets can still be booked, subject to availability. Please also note the terms and conditions when booking the coach.

Finally, a reminder of the men’s mental health group, run by Heads Up! In conjunction with the Wealdstone FC Foundation, which meets at Ruislip Social Club every Wednesday from 7-8pm. Please email headsupmhgroup@gmail.com to register your interest or find out more.

Our man in form - Dante Baptiste: The Stones’ number one was named as our man in form last week, and he carries that title into Saturday’s game.

Baptiste was at his very best against Braintree, making a couple of crucial stops, including a one-on-one save in the first 80 minutes of the game.

However, his performance in the final 10 minutes alone means that this game will go down as one of the best goalkeeping displays in the history of the club.

The 23-year-old made multiple world-class saves to keep his third clean sheet in a row.

He was very deservingly named in the Enterprise National League’s Team of the Week.

Well done, Dante!

The Opposition

Recent form: LDWDW

League Position: 9th

The Monkey Hangers sit directly below the Stones in the league table, and a win on Saturday would see them leapfrog Sam Cox’s side.

They are a team that has bounced between the fourth and the fifth tier over the last decade or so, and this is their third consecutive campaign in the National League.

Simon Grayson was named the club’s new manager in the summer after successful spells in India and Nepal.

However, he was dismissed just over a month ago after his new-look side could only draw against Gainsborough Trinity in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round.

The manager - Nicky Featherstone: 37-year-old midfielder Nicky Featherstone, who was actually named on the bench in that fateful match against Gainsborough Trinity, has been leading the side in recent weeks.

The spell is Featherstone’s first foray into management, and, aside from losing the replay against Gainsborough in his first match, he has been relatively successful.

The Goole-born man is yet to lose a league game in charge of the Monkey Hangers.

The danger man - Adam Campbell: Former England under-19 international Adam Campbell has hit form under the tutelage of Featherstone, and could cause the Stones’ defence some problems on Saturday.

Now 30 years old, the attacker made five appearances for Newcastle United in his youth before going on to play over 100 games in League Two.

He was a part of Mike Williamson’s Gateshead side, which won promotion from the National League North in 2022, and went on to score 13 goals in the fifth tier during the following campaign.

Campbell opened his account for this season early on against Morecambe, before scoring the only goal of the game last time out against FC Halifax Town.
