Preview - Great Wakering Rovers - 22 Sep - KO15:00

We welcome Great Wakering Rovers to The Vale this Saturday (22 Sep) for an Emirates FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round tie, kick off 15:00.


Our visitors play in the Bostik League North Division and are presently sitting in 16th place having played just 5 league games so far this season winning one, drawing one and losing three. They entered the FA Cup in the Preliminary Round where they defeated Leyton 4-1 at home, in the 1st Qualifying Round they had another home tie against Wisbeach Town where they ran out 3-1 winners. The Stones management team and squad will be looking to get back to wining ways at The Vale following last Saturday’s defeat to Chelmsford City.


Get behind the lads from the off, make plenty of noise and offer support for the 90+ minutes of action as we look to progress in best Football Cup Competition in the World.

If you arrive early you can purchase your Match-day ticket and programme from the pop-up ordering point located just inside the Ruislip Social Club (you can also order your half-time refreshment from the Social Club).


Please note, entry to the stadium is through the Turnstile block on the right as you enter The Vale which opens from 14:00. Cash entry is through Turnstile’s 1 & 2.


No entry to the stadium will be allowed through the metal gates adjacent to the turnstile block except for suitably badged individuals so please allow plenty of time to get into the ground prior to kick-off.


Free Parking at the stadium is permitted on the adjacent grass area, if you elect to park in the side streets near to the ground please do not block driveways or access for emergency vehicles, especially within Grosvenor Vale and Cranley Drive. Alternatively, use one of the pay & display car parks which are within 10–12 minutes walk of the stadium (see map HERE for assistance). Please be aware the Local Hillingdon Traffic Enforcement Department will be out and about and if you happen to park your vehicle inappropriately in the one of the side streets you are likely to get a ticket. You have been warned.

Public Transport

The Metropolitan & Piccadilly Lines should be operating a normal service to Ruislip Manor and Ruislip on Saturday. Likewise the Central Line should is also scheduled to be running a normal service to Ruislip Gardens (on leaving the station, turn right and walk ¾ mile (12-15 min) to the ground or cross the road and catch the E7 bus towards Ruislip and alight at the Grosvenor Vale stop)

Make sure you pick-up your award winning match-day programme (£3) on your way-in to the stadium and your golden goals tickets (£1 a ticket, first goal wins £50 last goal wins £10).


Lynn Evans and her team will be serving hot food (burgers, chicken burgers, bacon and sausage rolls and fish finger rolls hot and cold drinks from the catering unit situated at the top of the ground. The Half-way line tea bar in the ground will also be serving hot and cold drinks as well as snacks.


The Ruislip Social Club is open from noon and will be showing Fulham v Watford at 12:30 + Brighton & Hove Albion v Tottenham Hotspur at 17:30


Should the game on Saturday finish all square the replay will take place on Tuesday 25 Sep at Burroughs Park, Little Wakering Hall Lane, Great Wakering, Essex SS3 0HH, kick-off 19:45. Admission £10 Adults and £5 Concession.
