PLAYER UPDATE: Wadah Ahmidi

Updated: Oct 25, 2018

Stones Manager Bobby Wilkinson has announced today that midfielder Wadah Ahmidi will be taking a complete break from football for family and personal reasons.

Bobby said: "It is with great sadness that Wadah has had to take a break for personal reasons and we are absolutely gutted that he is having to stop playing. He has been absolutely first class for Wealdstone but he needs to take a break from football at this time. I have said to Wadah that the door is always open for him to return when the time is right for him.

"We will need to look for a replacement quickly and I have some irons in the fire and hopefully will be able to bring someone in before the end of this week or early next week, but we will also have to carefully consider current budget restraints in our overall planning for the remainder of the season."

In other player news, it is confirmed that FREDDIE GRANT will be sidelined for up to 3 to 4 months with ligament damage following the injury sustained during the recent FA Cup clash with Sutton United. Reading FC have kindly offered the use of their facilities to aid recovery time.
