PITCH PERFECT: The Vale All Set For Daggers' Trophy Tie!

WITH a forecast for little further rain between now and tomorrow's 3.00pm kick-off, Wealdstone FC looks forward to welcoming the Stones' faithful to The Vale for a last-32 Isuzu FA Trophy clash against Dagenham & Redbridge.

With no postponements at home this campaign, the club's improved drainage system has already been seen to best effect when it played a key role in allowing the thrilling draw between Stones and high-flying Forest Green Rovers to complete on Saturday November 22 - despite torrential before and throughout the contest.

The grounds care team are pleased with the current condition of the pitch, given the recent frosts and rainfall, and are very confident of play given a favourable weather forecast showing a broadly dry outlook across the next 24-plus hours.

Both teams are coming into the game after league defeats on January 3: Stones away at Carlisle United in the Enterprise National League, Daggers away at Hemel Hempstead Town in the division below.

Wealdstone are looking to get back in the winning groove after a tough recent run of league results. The previous round of the Trophy provided their most recent victory - 2-1 over Cheshunt at The Vale - while D&R were at the same time beating Hanwell Town 3-1, also at home.

The grounds care team will be on site from early tomorrow morning, as is usual practice for home matchdays, and, should for any reason conditions unexpectedly worsen, they're able to ask the match referee to visit for an inspection.

So it's (almost certainly) game on! And now we're asking...are you up for the cup?
