NEW SIGNING | Stones loan Elerewe
Wealdstone have completed the signing of 18-year old Charlton Athletic defender Deji Elerewe on loan until January.
The Charlton academy graduate has 11 first-team appearances to his name at the Addicks, making his debut last August in the EFL Cup against AFC Wimbledon.
"We're delighted to get the Deji deal done and announced," said Stuart Maynard. "He's a player that's really highly rated and it continues our going relationship with Charlton.
"We needed a right centre-half and Deji is someone we've watched a lot over the past 18 months. He's really progressed and probably in the last 4-6 months, has started to fill out and become a man.
"He's got incredible athleticism and he adds height to our team which'll be needed in this division. One versus one he's very good defensively and he will fit right in with Cookie [Jack Cook] and Sam [Habergham]. We now have a great mixture of experience, athleticism and quality in our back three, so it's a signing that compliments and enhances what we already have.
"It's a pleasure to have Deji on board and we're looking forward to working with him."
