Eddie Presland

The club are saddened to announce that former player and manager of Wealdstone Eddie Presland sadly passed away this week aged 78.

Presland came through the ranks at West Ham United in the early 60s alongside World Cup winners Geoff Hurst, Bobby Moore and Martin Peters and scored on his Hammers debut against Liverpool in 1965.

He then had spells at Crystal Palace, Colchester United and Chelmsford City before a spell in South Africa with Jewish Guild.

Presland spent the twilight of his playing career at Lower Mead with the Stones before moving on to manage the club between 1974 and 1976, guiding the Stones to the Southern League Division One South title, earning promotion to the Southern Premier Division.

He also went on to manage Dulwich Hamlet, Hendon, Gravesend & Northfleet and Dagenham.

The club send our condolences and deepest sympathies to all of Eddie's family and friends at this sad time.
