THE CONTEXT

Chesterfield visit Ruislip fresh off of their FA Cup giant-killing escapades on the weekend, where they saw off EFL League Two side Northampton Town in a 1-0 win at the Technique Stadium. The Spireites have also been doing well in the National League and Paul Cook's side currently sit in third place in the table with three wins from their last four league games. The Stones meanwhile bounced back last week, ending a run of five straight league defeats with a battling 1-0 win away at Altrincham with a threadbare squad. It should certainly be a well-fought out encounter under the floodlights at The Vale on Tuesday evening.

TEAM NEWS

Deji Elerewe will not feature for the Stones as he has been recalled by parent club Charlton Athletic following an injury crisis at The Valley, his Charlton teammate Charlie Barker does remain at the Stones though. The injured quartet of Ashley Charles, Mason Barrett, Nathan Ferguson and Max Kretzschmar could all be in contention after training over the weekend. Malachi Napa is definitely missing as he still has an ankle injury.

ONE TO WATCH

Attacking midfielder Armando Dobra has had a knack for scoring the FA Cup, two from two in the competition, scoring the winner against Northampton on the weekend. The former Albania U21 international joined the Spireites from Ipswich in the summer and has cemented his place in Paul Cook's side this season.

WHAT WAS SAID?

First Team Coach Craig Saunders speaking about the win at Altrincham: "I was buzzing for the lads because they got their rewards they should have had over the last few weeks, whether that was winning games or not getting enough points, last week's win was just good for everyone. Our fans are superb, they back the team, we've had a down, hopefully we've started a little upturn in form."

Spireites Assistant Manager Danny Webb after their FA Cup win against Northampton Town: “You have to defend for large parts of the game, we might have to do that on Tuesday night at Wealdstone, cup games are ultimately about the result and getting a win in the here and now, where the league games are performance-based with consistent good performances getting you over the line at the season's end. To win a cup game like this, and leagues and trophies, you have to go above and beyond and the boys certainly did that today.”

DID YOU KNOW?

Chesterfield earned their Spireites nickname through the crooked and leaning spire of the Chesterfield Parish Church, a Grade I listed building in the centre of the Derbyshire town.
