Colchester game now behind closed doors

Wealdstone's planned pre-season friendly at home to Colchester United on Saturday 31st July at Grosvenor Vale has now been moved to a behind closed doors fixture.

With rising COVID-19 cases, Colchester have requested the game be moved to their JobServe Community Stadium with no fans in attendance, and we have kindly agreed to move the fixture.

The U's Technical Director Jon De Souza explained: "We're really disappointed to take this action because going to Wealdstone has proved to be fantastic pre-season preparation in the past, and it wasn't an easy decision to make."

"But with rising cases and everything geared towards the Carlisle game on August 7th, we felt that it was prudent to take minimum risks with the final game of the pre-season schedule.

"I must say a big thank you to Wealdstone for their co-operation and we're sure it will prove to be a tough test wherever we play them.

"We wish them well for their season ahead."

Fans who have purchased a ticket in advance for this game will be refunded, any fans who have purchased our three-game pre-season bundle, we have now replaced this fixture with the Jonathan North Testimonial on Sunday 8th August.

If fans are unable to attend the fixture on Sunday 8th August, or would like a refund on the three-game bundle anyway, then please email seasontickets@wealdstonefc.com and we can issue one.

We apologise to fans who were looking forward to attending this fixture.
