Wrexham preview: McGregor "loving style of play" at Wealdstone

Giovanni McGregor is loving life at Wealdstone and this weekend's big game is exactly the sort of fixture where he can show his Football League qualities. The in-form midfielder has already registered four assists for the Stones since joining from Dulwich Hamlet for a fee set to be decided by tribunal. The 23-year-old was attracting interest from the EFL this time last season and on Saturday he gets the chance to showcase his technical skills against a table-topping Wrexham side packed with Football League experience. “I was enjoying my football at Champion Hill. and the crowds they get are just unreal for that division, but this is a big stepping stone to get back into the Football League," said McGregor in an interview with the Wealdstone matchday programme. "It maybe part time but this club feels like full time. In terms of training it feels full time, it all runs perfectly. and it's a big gap to be here compared to Dulwich.

“I was offered a short term contract [at Crystal Palace] and though I regret nothing, maybe I should have stayed. I had a loan at Dartford that didn’t work out, and then signed for Dulwich. Now I’m at Wealdstone. The standard is higher and I’m building relationships right across the pitch. I’m loving the style of play that the management team want, and we’re implementing it." Read the full interview with McGregor and much more in Saturday's award-winning matchday programme.
