Wealdstone FC to extend our Academy, in partnership with Harrow College

We are delighted to announce that Wealdstone FC is partnering with Harrow College to operate its Football Academy, based at the College.

The Wealdstone FC Academy - Harrow College Campus - will initially offer football and education opportunities for 16 to 18 year-olds wishing to progress within both sports and education. The club extends huge thanks to Dale Welch, the Head of the Wealdstone Academy at Brunel University and Manager of our u23s who was pivotal in enabling the linkup to happen.

Cameron Mawer, Head of Player Development at Wealdstone FC said “The partnership with Harrow College is hugely significant for the football club. Both the location and the facilities available are fantastic, and it also significantly increases the range of educational courses we can offer. Harrow College shares our vision of creating an exciting environment for young adults to progress within both sport and education, surrounded by first class facilities and resources.

"Wealdstone FC have developed a realistic pathway from youth football into the first team, with the aim of providing Matt Taylor and the management team with a pipeline of homegrown talent that can have an impact in the National League and above. As well as supporting the development of young players who are striving to progress their football careers, we enable them to achieve skills, experience and qualifications that will help them progress into other careers”.

Danny Kindell, Wealdstone FC Director responsible for the Academy, said “In what is the 125th Anniversary of the football club it means an awful lot that after so many years away from the Harrow area we are once again able to bring the Stones back into the local community.

We've long believed that the best young players in the area should be developing at Wealdstone FC and the addition of the academy at Harrow College to our 2 other sites means we now have facilities available to promising footballers across North West London. Our academy is fast becoming the destination football club for many promising young players outside of the Premier League and EFL.”

About the Wealdstone FC Academy, Harrow College Campus

The Wealdstone Academy Harrow College Campus is a sports and education programme run in partnership between Vanarama National League side Wealdstone FC and Harrow College.

The academy will offer a large number of education options available to study alongside the football including BTEC Level 3 qualifications in Sport, Fitness & Personal Training, BTEC level 3 Extended Certificate in Sport. OCR Level 2 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Sport, BTEC level 1 Diploma in Sport.

Students will also benefit from working with UEFA A & B License Coaches, current and ex professionals and playing in the National Under 19 Alliance, the highest ranked league outside of the professional game for this age group in the United Kingdom, as well as our network of local partner clubs.
