Sam Cox believes that his side will face a “tough test” at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium against a Morecambe team who he believes are in a “false” position in the league table as things stand.
Speaking on the trip to North Lancashire, the 34-year-old said:
“We’re looking forward to another challenge at the weekend.”
“We know that Morecambe are obviously a side that is in transition, but they have made some really good signings over the past couple of weeks.”
“For me, they have one of the most talented squads in the National League on paper.”
Cox also spoke about the job that his counterpart, Ashvir Singh Johal, has done over the last month after he was quickly thrust into the world of first-team management:
“I feel that Ashvir is doing a great job.”
“They are still building their methodology, and their league position at the moment is certainly false.”
“I have no doubt that it will be very different to the position they are in when they finish the season.”
Finally, the Stones manager commented on how training has been in the build-up to the match, as well as the atmosphere amongst the group at the moment:
“We had a good training session on Thursday, and we are going to be fully prepared.”
“We worked on some tactical elements and made sure that we will be completely prepared for what will be a tough test at Morecambe.”
“It was a great result on Tuesday. Something that we have previously spoken about is how winning breeds confidence and how winning breeds good morale.”
“I certainly think that the last two games have been positive, getting a draw and a win, and I would like to follow that up with another positive result this weekend so that we can carry on our momentum.”
