The world’s most famous cup competition is back and this Saturday, the magic of the Emirates FA Cup returns to Grosvenor Vale as Wealdstone host Whitstable Town in what promises to be a memorable afternoon of knockout football.
After last season’s unforgettable run to the Second Round, which culminated in a thrilling clash with League One Wycombe Wanderers broadcast live on ITV, the Stones begin their latest FA Cup adventure on home soil. This year’s journey starts with an opportunity to make more memories, but first we'll need to overcome a Whitstable Town side writing their own piece of history.
Visitors Whitstable Town, who play their football in the Southern Counties East Premier Division (Step 5 of the non-league pyramid) and are the FA Vase holders, are enjoying their best ever run in the FA Cup and will arrive at The Vale full of belief after a remarkable campaign so far.
The Oystermen began their run in spectacular style, winning 7–2 away at Lingfield in the Extra Preliminary Round, before producing another emphatic performance to triumph 9–0 away at Edgware in the Preliminary Round.
Their momentum continued with an outstanding 3–2 victory away at Dulwich Hamlet in the First Qualifying Round, followed by a determined 1–0 replay win at Chichester City after drawing 1–1 in the first meeting. In the Third Qualifying Round, they booked their place in the hat for the next stage with a 2–0 home victory over Hungerford Town, setting up their first ever appearance at this stage of the competition.
Saturday’s fixture offers supporters the chance to experience all the drama and excitement that only the FA Cup can deliver. With the competition renowned for its shocks and stories, every moment counts and your support can make the difference.
