Stones sign Dreher after impressing on trial

Wealdstone have completed the signing of former Crystal Palace midfielder Luke Dreher after the 24-year old impressed on trial with the club this summer.

Midfielder Dreher has appeared as a trialist in every pre-season friendly for the Stones this summer and impressed the management team, playing in his natural position of central midfield but also playing in defence for Maynard's side.

Like Stones teammates Giovanni McGregor and Corie Andrews, Dreher is a graduate of the Crystal Palace Academy system, making one first team appearance for the Eagles in a 5-3 win over AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Recovery from injury kept Dreher out of action and without a club last season, but he has since returned to full fitness and put in some solid performances over Wealdstone's pre-season campaign so far.

He'll be in today's squad to face AFC Wimbledon as the Stones finalise their preparations for our opening National League fixture against York City next week and will wear the number 16 shirt this season.
