Wealdstone FC can confirm that forward Micah Obiero has joined Carlisle United for an undisclosed fee.

Micah joined the Stones from Boston United in October 2022 and has since made more than 150 National League appearances for the club, scoring 29 goals in non-league’s top division, including 14 last season.

Chairman Rory Fitzgerald said:

“Micah was going into the final year of his contract and we made every attempt to get him to extend his time with us. He was clear with us though that he wanted a new challenge to help achieve his ambition to play in the EFL and that he wanted to take this opportunity to join Carlisle.

“Of course we would have liked Micah to stay, but once a player decides they want to leave the club, we have to make the right decision for Wealdstone. Our priority then becomes making sure the club gets good value from the situation and we believe we’ve achieved that.

“Micah has given us a lot over the last four years. He’s played more than 150 National League games for us, scored some important goals and was a big part of what we achieved last season. His attitude this season and during this process has been first class, we thank him for everything he’s contributed and wish him well at Carlisle.

“For us the focus now is on what comes next. We’ll look to strengthen the squad further and invest in players who want to be here, who believe in what we’re building and who want to play for the Stones.

“We’re ambitious about where we want to take this club and we’ll continue working to make the squad stronger.”

Everyone at Wealdstone FC thanks Micah for his contribution to the Club and wishes him all the best for the future.

Chairman, Rory Fitzgerald, will provide deeper insights into recruitment and our start to the season in an interview with our Media team tomorrow.
