News From The Vale
Tuesday saw the Stones play their final group game in the National League Cup, winning the match by a margin of two goals to nil, courtesy of an early goal from Olufela Olomola and a strike from Daniel Nkrumah on the hour mark.
Sam Cox’s team currently sit third in the group, and need Boreham Wood to lose their final game, against Wolverhampton Wanderers, by four goals to progress to the knockout round.
The Stones’ latest signing, Kieran Petrie, made his full debut for the club in midweek. The 20-year-old featured for the club as a trialist against Leicester City earlier in the year, providing the assist for Max Kretzschmar’s late winner.
The Stones are facing somewhat of an extended period away from the Vale, with the next game on home turf not coming until December 13th, when Cheshunt make the short trip to the Ruislip. Tickets for the FA Trophy Third Round match are available to purchase here.
If you are unable to make the trip to the West Midlands on Saturday, why not come down to the Vale, where the match will be streamed live on the big screen! There will be ‘happy hour’ drink prices in effect between 12:00 and 1:00pm.
Finally, please note that the Wealdstone FC Supporters Club is now running a third coach for our massive FA Cup Second Round clash against Grimsby Town, courtesy of a donation from the main club. You can purchase your seat on the coach via this link.
Our man in form - Dom Hutchinson: The Stones have been excellent defensively and clinical going forward in recent weeks, and Dom Hutchinson’s performances epitomise this spirit.
The 24-year-old struggled for game time in October, but made himself a must-start throughout November.
He showed excellent tenacity and speed to set up Olomola against Southend United, before producing a terrific strike to open the scoring against Yeovil Town. He was named in the National League Team of the Week following the victory at Huish Park.
In his most recent game, against Forest Green Rovers, Hutchinson beat two defenders before setting up Micah Obiero to score the Stones’ equaliser.
Great work, Dom!

Solihull Moors have been a steady National League side for the best part of a decade, flirting with promotion on more than one occasion, but never quite being able to get over the line.
After Andy Whing was poached by Barrow AFC midway through last campaign, the Moors secured the services of Matt Taylor, who was the Wealdstone manager at the time.
Taylor was sacked earlier in the campaign, following a poor start to the season, and replaced by Chris Millington.
The manager - Chris Millington: Millington is probably best known for his spell in charge of FC Halifax Town. He initially arrived at the Shay as Pete Wild’s assistant, but stepped up to become the manager once Wild departed.
In his first season at the helm, he guided the Shaymen to the FA Trophy before helping them to consecutive playoff finishes over the last two campaigns. Following their playoff defeat at the end of last season, the 50-year-old resigned from his position.
His start to life in the West Midlands has been impressive, and the Moors have lost just one of their last five games.
The danger man - Jacob Wakeling: The Moors’ top scorer by some distance this season is young attacker Jacob Wakeling.
The 24-year-old has a good amount of experience in the EFL, with his best season coming during the 2022/23 campaign, in which he scored eight goals and provided six assists.
Wakeling only arrived at The ARMCO Arena in September, but he already has seven goals this campaign.
Although his minutes have been somewhat limited in recent weeks, he has still scored twice and provided one assist in his last seven games in all competitions.
