Updated: Jan 30, 2021

THE DETAILS

Solihull Moors v Wealdstone

National League

SportNation.bet Stadium

Saturday 30th January, 3:00pm kick-off

This fixture will be hosted behind closed doors.

HOW TO WATCH

Due to current COVID-19 lockdown measures across the UK, this fixture will be played behind closed doors. The hosts are streaming the fixture and you can find the link HERE.

THE CONTEXT

Just four points separate Solihull in ninth and Wealdstone in eighteenth for what will be the first meeting of the two sides in the home sides new guise, although the Stones enjoyed a number of fixtures against their previous guise Moor Green in the late 80s and early 90s. Both sides fell to 2-0 away defeats in midweek with the Stones losing up at Altrincham and the Moors falling to a 2-0 defeat at Notts County.

TEAM NEWS

Josh Meekings was added to the Stones injury list, missing the midweek game at Altrincham due to a hip injury, he may return to the side this weekend. The long-term injured trio of Ross Lafayette, Connor Stevens and Danny Parish are all nearing a return to the side, with Parish looking days away from a return and Stevens involved in the warm-up at home to Aldershot last weekend.

FORM GUIDE

Stones: Altrincham (A) 2-0 L

Aldershot Town (H) 3-4 L (Lewis, Dyer, Emmanuel) Gloucester City (H) 3-1 W (Dyer, Emmanuel, Green) Hartlepool United (A) 3-1 L (Mendy) Maidenhead United (A) 4-0 L

Solihull Moors:

Notts County (A) 2-0 L Dover Athletic (A) 0-2 W (Cameron, Hudlin) Aldershot Town (A) 3-2 L Chesterfield (H) 2-1 W (Sbarra, Hudlin) Chesterfield (A) 1-0 L

WHAT WAS SAID Dean Brennan: "Solihull are a very techinical team, they move the ball around, they play between the lines, they play overload, just a very good technical team. It's going to be a tough game, there's no easy games in this division. Tell me any game that's been easy for us this year? If anyone tells me that I'll call them a liar! We must keep going, dust ourselves down and not linger on it (defeat to Altrincham) too much. The players are trying their best and it's important we don't get beat on Saturday."

WHO TO WATCH FOR

Jamie Ward: The experienced attacker joined the Moors at the start of the season after a short spell at Scunthorpe United in League Two. The 34-year old's nous and experience in the final third has been a welcome in the Moors attacking prowess and he'll be a key threat dying to make up for the Moors' firing a blank at Notts County in midweek. He is a Northern Ireland international and played for them at Euro 2016 in France, coming off the bench in their Group C opener against Poland and starting against Germany.
