THE CONTEXT Stockport arrive at The Vale in flying-form having been unbeaten in six since the arrival of new manager Dave Challinor, including a 5-3 extra time win over League One side Bolton Wanderers in their FA Cup First Round Replay. The Stones also enter this game in a rich vein of form and are now unbeaten in five, keeping three clean sheets in that run.

TEAM NEWS Rhys Browne picked up an ankle injury in the midweek win over Dover Athletic and Saturday's game may also be one too soon for Nikola Tavares who is carrying a thigh injury. Medy Elito could return after missing the past five games with injury, Connor Stevens is still out, whilst Ashley Charles returns from his one-game suspension.

WHAT WAS SAID? Stuart Maynard: "They've got quality outside of their squad, never mind in it! They are quality all over the pitch, they've heavily invested in the team as Wrexham did and they want to get out of this league as fast as they can. It will be a good test and we've got to make sure that we put our bodies on the line in this game because it will be that sort of match. It's going to be tough, we've played Saturday, Tuesday and Saturday again but we will recover, have a light session on Thursday and dig deep and have a game plan ready for Saturday." FORM GUIDE Stones: Dover Athletic (A) 2-3 W (Sweeney 2, Umerah)

Wrexham (A) 0-0 D

Barnet (H) 1-0 W (Browne)

Grimsby Town (H) 1-0 W (Buse) Weymouth (A) 1-1 D (McAvoy)

Stockport County: King's Lynn Town (H) 5-0 W (Keane, Rydel, Crankshaw, Barclay, Jennings)

Woking (A) 1-2 W (Madden 2)

Bolton Wanderers (H) 5-3 AET W (Madden, Quigley 2, Palmer, Crankshaw)

Bromley (H) 1-1 D (Quigley)

Bolton Wanderers (A) 2-2 D (Quigley, Whitfield)

WHO TO WATCH FOR? Macauley Southam-Hales: With the firepower that Stockport possess, workhorses like Southam-Hales can often go unnoticed but the full-back has really made the right-wing slot his own in the County team this season. The 25-year old began his career in the Welsh leagues with Barry Town United before his performances earned him a move to Fleetwood Town in EFL League One, he failed to make a proper breakthrough with the Cod Army and moved to Stockport at the beginning of last season and will pose a threat down the Stones left-hand side.
