THE CONTEXT

Wealdstone head to Chesterfield on the weekend for their first away trip of the season and first with the vociferous Stones faithful following them in the National League for over 30 years. The Stones went unbeaten against Chesterfield last season, winning 3-2 at The Vale early on as the visitors struggled, but with a new manager in James Rowe and significant finances put into the playing squad, they rocketed up the table and made the play-offs at the end. That did not stop Stuart Maynard's side picking up a surprise 0-0 draw away from home as the season began to end. However fortunes remain very much similar to when the sides last met with both predicted to be at opposite ends of the table. The hosts have strengthened this summer and go into the National League season as one of the title favourites.

TEAM NEWS

Zach Dronfield could make his Stones debut after returning from suspension following his pre-season red card against Hungerford Town. Connor Stevens remains absent as he recovers from a foot injury. Danny Parish will continue his return to match fitness at Billericay Town, as he has been loaned there for a month.

WHO TO WATCH FOR?

Kabongo Tshimanga: Tshimanga's signing a week before the season started lifted many eyebrows in the National League, with many tipping the former Boreham Wood striker to earn a move into the EFL. A natural, proven goalscorer at this level, Tshimanga got straight into the form that earned him his move to Chesterfield and scored on his debut in the Spireites 2-0 win away to Aldershot Town on the opening day of the season.
