THE CONTEXT

The Stones return to Grosvenor Vale for the first time since early May for our fourth fixture of pre-season against Charlton Athletic's U23 side. The Addicks' 23s are bursting with quality and produced the likes of Charles Clayden and Aaron Henry who more than impressed when on loan at the Stones last season. Neither of them are expected to feature on Saturday though as they're now playing with Charlton's first team following their successful loan spells here. One player who is expected to feature though is Charlton U23s captain Charlie Barker, who like Clayden and Henry also spent time at the Stones on loan last season, an impressive three-game spell early last term. A reminder that kick off time for the game has been brought forward to midday for player safety reasons as sweltering heat is expected to grip the country later that afternoon.
