Pitch Perimeter Barrier Update
A big week ahead for the club as the new pitch perimeter barrier is installed. Work was carried out last week to remove the existing barrier and all materials arrived at The Vale.
The materials were then taken offsite this weekend for powder coating and drying, ready for installation to commence tomorrow (Monday 7th March). Three sides of The Vale will have the new barrier installed in this first phase and in agreement with the council, the clubhouse side of the ground will not have the new barrier installed until the summer, remaining closed until the existing barriers can be successfully tested.
The club have been working closely with the local council and the National League to ensure fans are able to attend our home fixture v Weymouth on Saturday 12th March. We are pleased to confirm that spectators will be admitted to The Vale but the final capacity will be determined later this week.
As a minimum, 625 fans will be admitted into the seated areas of the ground. As installation works progress during the week, the local council will review the capacity and potentially open up other areas of the ground if installation of the new barrier is completed in those sections.
Ticketing arrangements will be confirmed shortly, but our paid for season ticket holders will be prioritised and a percentage will be allocated to visiting supporters. We will keep all supporters updated on progress and the impacts on capacity throughout the week.
Finally, to expedite the work, the club are looking for a few volunteers who are available Tuesday to Friday to help with general labouring to support the installation works at The Vale. If you are able to help, please contact General Manager Harvey Hicks at harveyhicks@wealdstonefc.com
