MATCH REPORT | Hendon 0-4 Wealdstone

Updated: Jul 6, 2022

A second half brace from Tarryn Allarakhia secured a 4-0 victory for Wealdstone in their first pre-season match of 2022, against Hendon at Silver Jubilee Park.

A first half full of trialists saw Wealdstone take the lead on 33 minutes after some excellent wing-play from Trialist H set up Trialist G for an easy header at the back post.

Allarakhia's double saw the Stones go 3-0 before Trialist I wrapped up the result with a goal in the 87th minute.

The first real chance of chance of the game fell to Trialist F who saw his shot go just wide in midst of a penalty shout that was turned away by the referee.

The Stones continued to exploit the high-line of Hendon as Trialist G hit an effort straight at the keeper, having been played in on goal by Trialist F.

Trialist G continued to get in the right positions, and his persistence paid off when he headed the ball in from close range, 33 minutes in, following some excellent wing-play from Trialist H.

Wealdstone couldn’t have come closer to scoring, just before half-time, when Trialist F rounded the keeper and saw his effort heroically cleared off the line by a Hendon defender.

Barely two minutes into the second half, a lobbed cross into the box from Trialist I was tapped in at the back post by Allarakhia, who scored the first goal of his second spell at the club.

Ten minutes later, Allarakhia doubled his tally, finishing calmly from the centre of the box after some brilliant team play from the Stones.

Sub keeper Sam Howes was given little to do in the second half but when called into action he delivered. The 24-year-old made a miraculous save late on to deny Hendon a clear-cut opportunity, thus preserving his clean sheet.

The victory was wrapped up for the Stones on 87 minutes, when a pinpoint cross into the box from David Sesay was finished by Trialist I to make it 4-0.

Overall, a tidy performance from Wealdstone on a sunny afternoon in Kingsbury and a great opportunity for Stuart Maynard to rotate his squad.

The Stones travel to Berkshire on Saturday where they will face Slough Town at 1PM in their second pre-season game.

WEALDSTONE: Trialist A (Howes 45), Trialist B (Balogun 79), Charles (Cook 45), Trialist C (Mboglem 79), Shrowder, Dyer (Sesay 45), Trialist D (Ferguson 45), Trialist E, Trialist F (Allarakhia 45), Trialist G (Trialist J 45), Trialist H (Trialist I 45).

Attendance: 258
