MATCH REPORT | Chesterfield 1-1 Wealdstone

Wealdstone picked up a well-earned point against play-off chasing Chesterfield after a 1-1 draw at the Technique Stadium on Tuesday night.

Micah Obiero bundled the ball over the line on the 25th minute before Spireites sub Armando Dobra equalised on 65 minutes.

Stuart Maynard made one change to the side that beat York City on Saturday with Nathan Ferguson returning to the eleven in place of Corie Andrews, with Obiero slotting in up top.

The hosts were intent on putting right their slump in form and Liam Mandeville went close early on, but he saw Ferguson clear his header off the goal line.

But Wealdstone rallied and Tarryn Allarakhia tested Ross Fitzsimons in the Spireites goal, with the keeper tipping over his header.

And the Stones were rewarded on 25 minutes with another fantastic build-up goal. A number of passes eventually found Allarakhia down the left wing and he put in a great cross for Ashley Charles.

Charles' header produced a fine clawed stop from Fitzsimons but it fell to the lurking Obiero a yard out who eventually pushed it over the line.

Minutes later Ferguson worked a great move down the left beating two defenders before crossing to Charles, his first touched created an opening but Fitzsimons saved well with his leg.

As expected, the hosts rallied and Ryan Colclough saw a narrow effort tipped onto the post by Sam Howes.

It took the introduction of Dobra and Paul McCallum to invigorate Chesterfield and Dobra produced an instant impact, slotting into the bottom corner after being on the pitch for just three minutes.

The game failed to produce any clear chances with Ryheem Sheckleford and McCallum coming closest for the hosts and Danny Oldaker producing a good block from Miguel Freckleton.

Wealdstone now look forward to an equally challenging away trip to high-flying Woking on Saturday afternoon.
