Cook and Ferguson given England 'C' call ups

Wealdstone duo Jack Cook and Nathan Ferguson have both been called up to the England 'C' squad to face Wales 'C'.

The game will take place on Wednesday 30th March at Caernarfon Town's The Oval ground with a 7PM Kick Off and is the first 'C' game to take place since the pandemic halted fixtures in 2020.

The game will feature an open-age England squad, with Cook, 26 and Ferguson, 28 benefactors of that rule being put in place for this fixture.

Since joining from Woking in the summer Cook has made 29 appearances for the club also earning the vice-captaincy.

Ferguson has made six appearances since joining the Stones in February but also has 24 appearances to his name from his stint at Southend United in the first part of this season.

Stones boss Stuart Maynard had this to say on their call-up: "It's a credit to Nathan and Cookie. There's no age limit on the selection this time and they're in the squad which is unbelievable and testament to how the ability of both of them is seen by everyone in this league."

They're the first Wealdstone players to be called up for Paul Fairclough's England 'C' side since Connor Stevens' call-up in 2019.

We wish both of them luck as they represent our country.
