WELCOME TO WEALDSTONE, ISAAC CHRISTIE-DAVIES

ree

We are delighted to announce the signing of former Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies.

Christie-Davies, 28, stands at 6 ft 2 and operates primarily in the centre of midfield. A product of the youth systems at Chelsea FC (2014–18) and Liverpool FC (2018–19) he brings a background of training and development at elite clubs to the Stones.

Isaac Christie-Davies joined the youth ranks of Chelsea FC at U11 level after beginning his footballing journey with Brighton’s youth set-up. At Chelsea he built a reputation as a box-to-box midfielder who combined energy with goal-threat - he was already making his U18 debut while still an U15 in the 2012-13 season.

During the 2014-15 campaign, Christie-Davies scored 12 league goals for Chelsea’s U18 side, underlining his attacking instincts from midfield. He subsequently featured in the club’s youth successes, including being part of the U18 squads that won the FA Youth Cup in 2015 and 2016. He also progressed to Chelsea’s U23 side, playing regularly in Premier League 2 and gaining valuable experience in the Checkatrade (EFL) Trophy.

Despite his strong development at youth level, Christie-Davies did not make a senior-first-team appearance for Chelsea before the expiry of his contract, upon which he signed for Liverpool.

During his time at Liverpool, Christie-Davies made his senior professional debut for the club on 17 December 2019 in the EFL Cup away at Aston Villa FC. Though his league appearances for Liverpool’s first team were limited, his debut highlights the level of exposure he had within a top-tier environment.

Following his spell at Liverpool, he signed for Barnsley FC in September 2020 on a three-year deal. While at Barnsley he also spent time on loan with Slovak side FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda, making nine league appearances.

Most recently, Christie-Davies has been plying his trade in Belgium with K.A.S. Eupen (2022–24), competing in the Jupiler Pro League - the top division in Belgium. During his time there he made 39 league appearances (24 in 2022-23 and 15 in 2023-24) without scoring.

On the international front, Christie-Davies has represented both England and Wales at youth levels. He played for England Under-16 (2 caps) and England Under-17 (5 caps) in the early part of his career. Later, he featured for Wales Under-21s on four occasions.

Manager Sam Cox commented:

“Isaac brings quality, experience and a winning mentality from some top clubs and will add further competition in our midfield. We're delighted to have him at The Stones.”

Isaac goes straight into the squad for our Enterprise National League fixture away at Hartlepool United today.
