Matty Saunders signs for the Stones!



Wealdstone Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Matty Saunders.


The 29-year-old experienced midfielder becomes Dean Brennan's fourteenth signing of the summer.


Saunders began his professional career at Fulham in 2009 having graduated from the club's academy.


He was sent on loan to Lincoln City in League Two during the 2009/10 season where he had a successful tenure, appearing in the FA Cup Third Round and scoring three goals in 18 appearances.


In 2011, Saunders was released by Fulham and joined Dagenham & Redbridge in February 2012. The midfielder spent three season with the Daggers, with his highlight season being the 2012/13 season where Saunders amassed over 30 appearances.


Saunders had brief spells with Whitehawk and Dover Athletic in 2014, he spent a short time playing in India before joining Brennan's Hemel Hempstead at the end of the year.


Later in the 2014/15 season, Saunders agreed to join National League side Aldershot Town. By the 2015/16 season, Saunders had returned to Hemel Hempstead in the National League South.


Saunders has already made six appearances for Wealdstone since the start of pre-season.
