Wealdstone produced a five-star performance to thrash Solihull Moors 5-1 at The Vale and notch their third consecutive victory in a week.
An early header from Connor McAvoy, along with second-half finishes from Sean Adarkwa, Nathan Tshikuna, Micah Obiero and Junior Tiensia completed the rout for the Stones, as Conor Wilkinson’s goal proved merely consolatory for the Moors.
Waddock made two changes to the side that edged Tamworth midweek, with skipper Enzio Boldewijn and Jack Hinchy returning to the starting line-up for the Stones.
Wealdstone were quick out of the traps and deservedly took the lead in the 13th minute when aerial threat McAvoy rose highest to guide Tshikuna’s pinpoint free-kick over Laurie Walker into the top corner.
Boldewijn embarked on a marauding run in the 15th minute before being scythed down on the edge of the area; Tshikuna stepped up to bend the resultant free-kick inches wide of Walker’s post.
The Stones continued in the ascendancy and nearly notched a second on the 34th minute mark when Dom Hutchinson burst down the right wing, cut inside and unleashed a venomous strike that stung the palms of Walker.
Despite Wealdstone’s dominance, the Moors had the opportunity to go into half-time on level terms with a fluid counterattack in the 43rd minute; Oscar Rutherford surged forward and whipped the ball into Darius Lipsiuc, who volleyed on target, but Dante Baptiste was equal to his effort.
Waddock’s side returned from the break with the same attacking endeavour and duly doubled their advantage in the 56thminute; in form Adarkwa cut inside from the left flank and superbly curled home past Walker from outside the edge of the box.
The Stones did not have to wait long for a third, as two minutes later, danger-man Tshikuna clinically despatched past Walker from distance into the bottom corner.
Against the run of play, the visitors pulled a goal back in the 65th minute through substitute Wilkinson, who tapped-in from close range after Baptiste had misjudged a cross.
A minute later, the hosts extended their lead again; substitute Terrell Agyemang threaded through top scorer Obiero, who coolly slotted home past Walker.
With 20 minutes remaining, the Stones completed a rampant afternoon, with Tiensia firing past Walker into the bottom corner to score his first goal for the club.
The Stones return to action on Tuesday 17th March when they travel to face Gateshead in a 7:45pm kick-off.
