Ten-man Wealdstone were defeated 0-3 by table toppers York City at Grosvenor Vale.
Second-half goals from Morgan Williams, Zak Johnson and Daniel Batty enabled the Minstermen to notch their sixth successive league victory.
Sam Cox made two changes to the side that were narrowly edged by Altrincham midweek, with Enzio Boldewijn and Anthony Georgiou returning to the starting line-up.
The visitors tested Dante Baptiste within four minutes of kick-off as the league’s top scorer, Ollie Pearce, drilled a shot from range that was well-saved by the Stones’ shot-stopper.
Four minutes later, Ollie Banks crossed to Pearce in the box with a pinpoint delivery, but the striker headed just wide of the target.
Wealdstone matched ex-manager Stuart Maynard’s side in the early stages and came tantalisingly close to scoring in the 12th minute when Georgiou’s inswinging corner had to be headed off of the line by Mark Kitching.
The Stones continued to bring the game to their higher counterparts, mounting a swift counterattack in the 17th minute; however, Shay Spencer’s strike was crucially blocked by Hiram Boateng.
Cox’s men looked to break the deadlock, and in the 28th minute, Micah Obiero surged through on goal from the half-way line, but his final shot was straight at Harrison Male.
In a highly competitive first-half, the visitors had an opportunity to score in the 32nd minute as Banks dinked the ball into Kitching, though Baptiste was on hand to thwart the danger.
Five minutes later, Nathan Tshikuna saw Male off of his line and tried to chip the Minstermen’s custodian from just inside their half, but his effort failed to dip in time.
Two minutes before the interval, York City had their best chance of the half with Banks firing towards the bottom corner, but Baptiste produced a brilliant save to deny the attacker.
Maynard’s side returned from the break in the same attacking vein, with Banks volleying from just outside the box in the 50th minute, but Baptiste was again equal to the effort.
On the 56th minute mark, the Stones were reduced to ten-men when skipper Boldewijn was dubiously shown a second yellow card for a foul on Jeff King, and this changed the whole trajectory of the game.
The Minstermen had another sight of goal in the 67th minute when Ben Brookes’ cross found Banks, whose header flew inches wide of the post.
Moments later, Tshikuna nearly produced a moment of magic, unleashing a venomous strike from 35-yards that skimmed the top of the crossbar.
Bolstered by their numerical advantage, the visitors duly took the lead in the 70th minute as Williams poked the ball home from close range.
York City doubled their lead in the 81st minute when Brookes’ long throw found Johnson, who guided the ball past Baptiste.
Deep into stoppage time, the Minstermen trebled their advantage as Batty struck a peach of a goal from range that flew into the top corner in the 96th minute.
Wealdstone return to action on Tuesday evening when they entertain Hartlepool in a 7:45pm kick-off.
