Wealdstone cruise away with three points after a dominant performance at St James Park.
Enzio Boldewijn was on hand to lash the ball home early on to set the tone for the Stones.
Micah Obiero capped off a lively performance with a peach of a goal straight after the restart.
Sam Cox made two changes to the side that drew with Eastleigh at the weekend. Connor McAvoy returned from injury to make his first start of the season, coming in for Dom Hutchinson, whilst Sean Adarkwa returned to the XI in place of Olufela Olomola.
Wealdstone started the game as they meant to go on, completely on the front foot and taking the game to Brackley Town.
The first chance of the game came just two minutes in when the ball was cut back to Nathan Tshikuna, who in typical fashion rifled one towards the top corner, forcing the first save of the game out of Jonathan Maxted.
Obiero, who caused problems for the Hosts all game, came close to opening the scoring 12 minutes in when he took the ball on the half-turn and squeezed a shot away, forcing another smart save out of Maxted.
But Brackley’s resilience would finally be broken down, 22 minutes in, when the ball fell kindly to Boldewijn after a scramble in the area to smash home and send the travelling Stones faithful wild.
Immediately looking to build on their opener, the Stones pressed hard once more. Obiero forced another strong save out of Maxted once again, smartly squeezing a shot away from a tight angle.
Rushing straight out of the blocks like they started the game, Cox’s side didn’t want to leave any doubts and pushed for the goal that would double their lead.
Picking the ball up straight after the restart, Obiero cut inside and curled one beautifully in off the post for a well deserved goal on the day.
Now two goals ahead with a cushion of safety, the Stones kept the ball patiently for the remainder of the second half, limiting Brackley’s opportunities and their time on the ball.
With a small portion of time remaining in the game, the Hosts looked to create some chances of their own.
Morgan Roberts looked to take matters into his own hands, cutting inside and firing one towards the bottom corner, forcing the first real save out of Dante Baptiste.
Danny Waldron forced a crucial one-on-one save out of Baptiste with just three minutes remaining, cementing a clean sheet for the the Stones keeper on a day with very little to do.
Next up for the Stones, the visit of Altrincham this Saturday at 3pm.
WEALDSTONE XI: Baptiste, Chinedu, Woodman (Diarra 85’), McAvoy (Hassan 46’), Boldewijn, Georgiou, Kadji, Tiensia (Hutchinson 85, Tshikuna (Olomola 66’), Obiero, Adarkwa.
