The Opposition
Recent form: WLLLW
League Position: 16th
Yeovil Town are one of many sides in the gaggle of mid table teams which is currently headed by the Stones.
The Glovers were as high in the English footballing pyramid as the Championship just over 10 years ago, but have largely settled down as a lower mid-table National League side in the 2020s.
They have endured an extremely turbulent 2025/26 season, which has seen four different managers in the dugout, but a good win against Morecambe last time out has put them a relatively comfortable seven points clear of the drop zone.
The reverse fixture: The Stones picked up one of their four away victories in the league when they travelled to Huish Park earlier in the season.
It was Yeovil who started the better of the two teams on a rainy night in early November, but the Stones created a great chance on the break 15 minutes in.
Dom Hutchinson burst down the right flank and fired a ball across the box, but Sak Hassan’s attempt to pull it back to Micah Obiero was thwarted by Jed Ward.
After a rather dull first half, Aaron Jarvis was found in the middle of the Wealdstone box by Michael Efete in the 50th minute. The big striker couldn’t control his strike on the stretch, and his shot went wide of the mark.
Less than 10 minutes later, the Stones took the lead via Dom Hutchinson. A bouncing ball fell to the wing-back in the box, and he produced a stunning strike on the spin to give the Stones the lead.
Dante Baptiste made a couple of good saves to deny Yeovil an equaliser before Max Kretzschmar bounced on another bouncing ball in the box to score a volleyed effort!
The Stones saw out the final 15 minutes of the game well to pick up a comfortable victory!
The danger man - James Daly: A strong finish to the campaign could leave James Daly with the most prolific season of his career after a decent run of form over the last month.
The versatile attacker, who can play on either flank or lead the line, has scored six times in 28 appearances for the Glovers in all competitions.
His 93rd-minute goal kick-started Yeovil’s late comeback against Sutton at the end of February, and he scored in the Glovers’ victory against Morecambe last time out.
