Preview - Hampton & Richmond Borough (A) - Saturday 16th November

Wealdstone make the short trip to the Beveree Stadium to visit Hampton & Richmond Borough in the National League South on Saturday afternoon.

The Stones have been forced to miss out on action in the last two weeks because of postponements and has allowed recovery time for a lot of key players to return.

Wealdstone Manager Dean Brennan: “It’s been a nice bit of luck with a couple of games being postponed.”

The break in action for the Stones has allowed midfielder Michael Phillips to return to full fitness, only missing one fixture due to injury.

Midfielder Billy Clifford and winger Jacob Mendy also missed the previous league fixture due to suspension and will be available for selection this weekend.

Brennan on the rest: “I think the boys will be chomping at the bit. We’re going to go back into a really hectic schedule now so a little breather helps”.

Gary McCann’s Hampton & Richmond saw recent success with three wins on-the-bounce however, they have suffered two narrow defeats in their last two games.

Brennan on Hampton: “I know they didn’t have the greatest start to the season, but they’ve definitely picked up over the last six weeks.”

Hampton have a wealth of experience at centre half with the defensive duo of Dean Inman and Charlie Wassmer, the latter receiving the National League South October Player of the Month award.

Stones striker Dejon Noel-Williams has looked dangerous since his birth into the line-up and has netted five in the last three games in all competitions.

Noel-Williams has linked up most effectively with winger Dennon Lewis; the speedster has assisted two of Noel-Williams’ three league goals so far.

Norwich City loanee Aston Oxborough broke his hand last week and Brennan swiftly recalled Jonathan North from his loan at Chesham United; North will make his first start for the Stones this season on Saturday in his tenth season at The Vale.

Brennan on recalling North: “We have to use him [North]; a good experienced goalkeeper coming back, who’s obviously a legend at the football club.”

An on-the-whistle report will be available on the official Wealdstone FC website at full-time on Saturday; you can follow live updates on the official Stones Twitter feed from 3pm.
