Nomadic Nathan Ferguson "feels wanted" at Wealdstone
Nathan Ferguson will line up against his former club club Southend today feeling equipped to showcase his best football.
The midfield powerhouse joined the Stones from today's opponents earlier in the year and has been at the cornerstone of the team's development under Stuart Maynard.
"I've started every game since signing in Februarv – 18 last season and all nine this season. I'm being trusted to make things happen with the ball, play on the front foot and I feel wanted here," said Ferguson in an interview with the matchday programme.
"[I got messages from players and the club president when I signed]. That made me feel straight away at nome... normally you're greeted just like another player, just another number."
Ferguson, who has been at 16 clubs by the age of 26, has been a fulcrum in the Stones midfield and is given the freedom by Maynard to express himself.
"Last season I had a good partnership with Aaron Henry because he liked to sit deeper and get on the ball earlier, and be creative from those areas," he said.
"And now playing alongside Charlesev brings out the best in the both of us. I've really been enjoying It and we're disappointed now we don't win games."
