Meadow High School Enjoy a Memorable Day at The Stones

Last weekend, we welcomed over 100 students, parents and carers from Meadow High School to our home game against Rochdale as part of our Community Programme. Meadow High School is a rapidly growing secondary school for pupils aged 11 to 19 with Moderate Learning Disabilities and associated complexities. The event provided an unforgettable opportunity for these young fans and their families to experience live football in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The day was filled with excitement as the group roared onThe Stones to a memorable victory. The positive feedback from attendees highlighted the impact of the event on both students and their families:

Miss Pinto shared:"Thank you for the opportunity we had to attend the match. Overall, we had an amazing time, and Tiago especially got really involved in the excitement with the Wealdstone fans — he absolutely loved it. The stewards were all really nice and helpful. We look forward to any future events at Wealdstone."

Miss Tsymbal added:"It was a great chance to spend family time together and enjoy watching the game. Daniel really enjoyed the game and was happy to watch it with his family. When he arrived home, he was filled with emotion and could not stop commenting on the game."

Mr. Ragg, who attended with his children, said:"I went to the game on Saturday with Bobby and his sister. We usually go to Brentford games, but the kids really had a good day and enjoyed the old-school feel. They also loved the burger van!"

And from the students themselves:

  • Tom shared: "I liked watching Wealdstone score goals. I liked watching the live game and hearing the manager telling the players what to do. I would definitely go again!"

  • Sam, George, Ronnie, and Oscar said: "It was great to go to the game on Saturday and watch Wealdstone win as mates. We really enjoyed the atmosphere at the ground! We would like to go and watch more games at Wealdstone and are looking into buying season tickets!"

The event was a testament to the club’s commitment to building connections with the community and creating inclusive experiences for all. We are proud to have shared the experience with the Meadow High School community and look forward to welcoming them back to Grosvenor Vale in the future.
