LOAN NEWS | Simper swoops in

Wealdstone are delighted to announce signing of Cambridge United midfielder Lewis Simper on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old midfielder comes in to give the Stones a number of options in the heart of midfield. With Alex Dyer and Ashley Charles both representing their respective countries on international duty next week, Stuart Maynard could look to Simper to provide some cover at the base of the Stones midfield in the coming weeks.

Still a relatively young player, Simper has gained valuable experience in League One, featuring nine times for Cambridge United this season. He also had a brief loan spell at Woking earlier this month where he featured twice for the high-flying Cardinals.

Simper spent the majority of last season on loan at Concord Rangers in National League South. He impressed for The Beach Boys, scoring three goals in 17 appearances and will be hoping to bring that form to the Stones as he goes into the derby day squad to face Barnet on Saturday.
