Loan news: Barker in and Baptiste out

The Stones have resigned Charlie Barker on loan until January.

The Charlton right-sided defender, 19, played three games for Stuart Maynard during a temporary loan switch last autumn and returns to The Vale for an extended spell after a period at Hemel Hempstead. He will wear the No. 24 shirt and goes straight into the squad for the game against Dagenham & Redbridge tomorrow.

"Charlie has improved since he was last with us," said Maynard. "He's filled out and is starting to become a man. He's a player we've always liked and we wanted to sign him again [in the summer] but other players come up in his position. We rate him highly, he's a great lad and fitted into the group so well. He's excited to come to us and you want people to come to Wealdstone for the right reasons. He wants to be here and he believes in what we are doing."

Goalkeeper Dante Baptiste, meanwhile, has joined Hendon on loan for a month with an immediate recall clause.
