Barker: 'We will give it our all at Altrincham.'

Charlie Barker says The Stones will go to The J. Davidson Stadium full of hope following their recent away form.

David Noble's side have won two and drawn one of their last three games on the road and so a trip to face the team in eighth place for a 7.45pm kick-off on Tuesday night holds no fear.

"We know they are a good team, but we compete with everyone in the league," said the defender. "There is no-one we look at and fear. We feel we can go there, compete and give it our all and try and get a result. Every game is a battle for the rest of the season. You've got about ten teams in the relegation scrap and about ten teams going for promotion, so everyone is fighting for something. It's going to be tough with the amount of minutes we have played lately, but we do everything right and prepare the games properly. There are going to be tired legs, but we've got to fight and dig deep for the rest of the season."

Noble will make some late calls on the members of the squad who are playing through the pain barrier and fighting fatigue in a bid to keep this club in the National League.

"It will be a difficult game as they are a good side who are looking at the play-offs," said the manager. "We'll have to see the state of boys and the walking wounded after Saturday, but you won't be able to fault the boys effort. We will pick a team to get a result Tuesday night."

Phil Parkinson saw his side slip to a disappointing home defeat to Gateshead on Saturday after twice being in front.

“Recently, our home form has been indifferent," said Parkinson. "That is what the team needs to turn around, we have to find the home form that we enjoyed at the start of the season. Ultimately, everybody is capable of beating anyone in the division - I’m certain every manager in the league has said it. So home-field advantage must (be made to) count for something.”
