A YEAR OF SUCCESS FOR WEALDSTONE FOUNDATION RELAUNCH

Updated: May 23

At a club where the local Community is the heart and soul, we celebrate a successful campaign for the relaunch of the Wealdstone Foundation over the past year.

The Stones have always worked closely with local partners, supporters and communities to build bridges in Hillingdon, Harrow and Ruislip, and the relaunch of our Foundation has only bolstered such relationships.

Overseen by Board Director Danny Kindell, the Wealdstone Foundation began their relaunch shortly after the start of the 24/25 campaign, having put the plans in place from June 2024.

The creation of the Foundation website followed swiftly. A hub where all important visions and stories have been displayed to capture the incredible work going on behind the scenes.

October 23rd was a huge milestone for the Foundation as the club dedicated our home fixture against Braintree Town as our ‘Community Trust Game’, where all proceeds went towards the Foundation project.

We celebrated a wonderful atmosphere down at Grosvenor Vale with supporters and families coming down to witness a crucial 3-2 against the Iron.

Our ticket initiative scheme with local schools has seen the club continue to branch out into the local area. Children growing up in the local area get the chance to watch their local club with friends and family.

Schools included in our ticket initiative scheme include:

• Meadow High School - maintained secondary special school for pupils aged 11 to 19 with Moderate Learning Disabilities and associated complexities.

• Via Hillingdon Borough Council - Ukrainian Programme for children & families

• Newnham community School

Wealdstone were able to donate a ‘kindness bench’ to Lady Bankes Primary School.

The work done over the past year allowed the club to gain two successful grant funding applications in important areas of growth.

Garfield Weston Foundation have approved the Foundation with funds to partake in the ‘Football & Maths in School Programme’ and The National League Trust have granted the club funds to hire a new part-time Foundation Community Co-ordinator.

In February, the club celebrated our annual ‘HerGameToo’ fixture, where we honour the inclusion and importance of women in the football industry.

This year, we commemorated the stories of important female figures within the club during the build-up to our home gameagainst Hartlepool United, our chosen ‘HerGameToo’ fixture (see below).

An important aspect of the community project has been keeping a high standard of health and wellbeing within the culture of the club and community. Over the past year we have seen our over 50s walking team win the Middlesex Central League and have also taken part in the National League Trust U11s Cup.

Keep an eye out on our social channels in the next few weeks for the launch of our new Community channels, where we’ll be keeping you up to date with all the latest news regarding the Community and Foundation as we continue to grow such a meaningful project!
