Watford Women ready for new season at The Vale

Watford Women gear up for a brand new season in a brand new league at Grosvenor Vale this year, as they start their Barclays Women's Championship season at The Vale at home to Durham on Sunday 27th August at 12pm (noon).

The Vale has proved a happy hunting ground for the Golden Girls, earning promotion in their first year in Ruislip, finishing 1st in last season's Women's National League South division, before winning the entire South tier entirely in their play-off final against Nottingham Forest back in May.

The summer has seen plenty of change for boss Damon Lathrope as his side moves up a level, with Wales' all-time leading scorer Helen Ward bringing an end to her illustrious playing career, moving upstairs to take on the role of General Manager.

It has also seen the arrivals of Dominican Republic international Lucia Leon from Real Betis and also of Abbie Lafayette from Ipswich Town, who will know The Vale well, being sister to Wealdstone legend Ross.

Tickets for the opening day fixture are on sale now and can be purchased online, over the phone on 01923 223023 or in-person at the Supporter Services & Ticketing Office at Vicarage Road.

Wealdstone season ticket holders will once again be able to purchase discounted tickets to Watford Women home games, as will season ticket holders to Watford men's side.

Online sales will conclude at midnight on Sunday 27th August, with on the day prices then available at the turnstiles at Grosvenor Vale.

Tickets are priced below (matchday prices in brackets): Adults - £7 (£8)

Concessions (Over 65s & U18s) - £4 (£6)

Watford Men/Wealdstone ST holders - £2 (£3)
