Stones selected to provide Hillingdon HAF summer camps

We are delighted to announce that following the enormous success of the Easter HAF football camp the London Borough of Hillington have selected Wealdstone FC as an official partner to provide an extended summer holiday football camp.

The HAF programme provides children with enriching activities and healthy food over holiday periods and Wealdstone FC will be opening the gates to Grosvenor Vale over the following 3 weeks:

Week 1: Monday 31st July to Thursday 3rd August

Week 2: Monday 14th August to Thursday 17th August

Week 3: Monday 21st August to Thursday 24th August

The football camp will be free for children who receive benefits related free school meals and either live or are educated in the borough of Hillingdon. The footballcamp is also open to children who do need receive the free school meals benefit aged 4 to 16 for a small fee.

About The Holidays Activities Food programme

The HAF programme seeks to provide children in receipt of free school meals with free holiday provision, including healthy food and enriching activities. Research has shown that the school holidays can be pressure points for some families.

For some children that can lead to a holiday experience gap, with children from low-income households being:  less likely to access organised out-of-school activities, more likely to experience ‘unhealthy holidays’ in terms of nutrition and physical health, and more likely to experience social isolation.
