NEW SIGNING | Stones loan Wales U21 midfielder Bowen

Wealdstone are delighted to announce the signing of Sam Bowen on loan from EFL League Two side Newport County.

At 22-years old, Bowen has four championship appearances to his name for Cardiff City, the club he began his career at before making the move to Newport in 2022.

The central midfielder made 14 appearances for the Exiles last season, including seven times in League Two and at despite his young age, will look to bring his experience from the higher divisions to the National League.

Bowen, son of former Wales international Jason, has featured 12 times for Wales at youth level, twice for the U17s, seven times for the U19s and three times for the U21s.

Playing mainly in the centre of midfield, Sam is able to sport either a defensive role or a more advanced position. He states that he like to get on the ball as much as possible and create chances for the team.

Subject to international clearance, Sam will go straight into the squad to face Eastleigh away from home at 3pm on Saturday.

We can’t wait to see him bossing the midfield in a Stones shirt!
